WINTERPORT — A Winterport man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend Dec. 16. Ronald Murphy, 34, was reportedly involved in a verbal altercation with the woman when things turned

WINTERPORT — A Winterport man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend Dec. 16.

Ronald Murphy, 34, was reportedly involved in a verbal altercation with the woman when things turned physical.

Waldo County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Wiley McVety responded to the Back Winterport Road where he spoke to both the victim, and witnesses to the assault.

The victim and witnesses told McVety that the argument turned physical when Murphy closed a door on the woman, pinning her between the door and the door frame.

Murphy was arrested and charged with domestic violence assault. He was transported to Waldo County Correctional Center where he was later released on $300 bail.
